New Sidewalks and Medallions

After a long construction phase on West Broadway, we now have some beautiful new sidewalks, beautifully designed medallions, and a vibrant sense of community!

In December 2009, the WBBA Directors were proud to unveil the new dedication monument recognizing contributing members from the community for their support of our beautiful new sidewalk medallions.

West Broadway Merchant Survey

The West Broadway Business Association reached out in April to the merchants between Collingwood and Larch, seeking their opinons for a survey on a variety of topics. Responses will be valuable to guide us in offering more support and services to our members..

With this information, we will be in a better position to help with marketing & advertising strategies, beautification and street enhancement & entertainment, special events development, and crime prevention & safety programs.

Any merchant, business or property owner who would like a copy of the data results can send their request to us by email.

Community Art Project Monument Unveiled

The West Broadway Community Art Project has been realized after several years of fundraising and planning. With a final dedication ceremony that was held on Sunday, December 6, we are now unmistakably ready to welcome shoppers and visitors to our street.

A plaque recognizing our sponsors and artists was officially unveiled in the small square at the corner of Broadway and Bayswater, adjacent to Mark James. Active members from the community along with West Broadway Business Association Directors joined with the artists to celebrate this great accomplishment.

These Medallions, honouring the Greek and Coast Salish First Nations art, display the works of Greek artists Evie Katevatis and Alexandra Dikeakos, and Coast Salish artists Susan Point and Kelly Cannell. Along with our rebuilt sidewalks, new landscaping and repainted lampposts, the Medallions have revitalized our community. It is thanks to you all that we have such a wonderful new streetscape.

Would you like to do more? Our board meetings are held throughout the West Broadway neighbourhood, where space and time for the group is offered. We would be grateful to add another location to possible meeting sites. If you have a board room, meeting room, or even a restaurant, that can seat approx. 15 people, please contact us.
